So the reason for our quick trip to Florida and Epcot fun was because Ari's PBE team had made it to Division level (the last level). And division testing was held in Florida. Again, for PBE there is a chosen book of the Bible for the year and teams have to study/memorize that book so... Continue Reading →
Thank you to everyone!
Since my last post we have had many friends and church members and family come and help us on our house! Ari commented on it one day, that we have such a caring and helpful church community. She asked if all churches were like that and I said...well, they should be. We did everything on... Continue Reading →
W is for Water
Water water everywhere. It's the perfect week for studying water because we're getting lots of rain! We've studied the 3 phases of water, exploring liquid, solid and gas: water, ice and steam. We explored evaporation and absorption and saturation. We did watercolor painting and went out in the rain and felt it on our skin... Continue Reading →
House Progress!
Progress has been happening! This last month after all our trips, we've been spending a lot of time at the house. The kids have learned to saw through a 2x4 with a hand saw, and to put gold coat around a door or window frame, and to use an electric screwdriver, and to drive an... Continue Reading →
Spring has sprung!
Technically it isn't time yet but...everything around here says it is spring. Our fruit trees are in full bloom as are the daffodils. The insects are back to trying to sneak in our screen doors and my nose has a hunch that the pollen is coming soon. We've almost finished our study of Africa. Tomorrow... Continue Reading →
On to Africa!
The last week and a half have been busy and fun. We made pretzels and blushing maid for our German feast and then we flew to Kenya to study Africa. We Have Railings!
Exciting developments this week. The track did arrive at the end of last week and so Ari's room was put together this week. She was super stoked. Also our balcony railing and the inside railing were delivered and installed which means...I no longer have to hold Cas' hand when upstairs! He can explore more freely... Continue Reading →
Getting through February
The couple of months after Christmas are both the months we can tend to get the most done in school...and the months that I sometimes feel are the most dull and I start planning the fun ahead to help me get through them. Anyways, I am trying to figure out what we're doing next year... Continue Reading →
House updates
First floor walls are pretty much complete as is the ceiling blocking so that the second floor can be started on next week!
We have first floor walls!
Most of the first floor is up! We have the library and closet and downstairs bathroom and kitchen and garage. The only first floor walls left to add are the exterior living room walls and the wall dividing the garage from the kitchen. When we first showed the kids pictures of the first walls up...
