After Shabbat, our first Jewish feast was Rosh Hashanah. In the Old Testament this was the feast of trumpets. We've started learning about early Egypt. Kids have made costumes. We've made pyramids out of magna tiles, sticks, and play doh. We've reenacted the unification of Egypt and we're in the process of making 3d maps of the Nile. In science we've played with blocks, set paper on fire with the sun, and made sun... We've been having a good time in our homeschool! Moving through studying Genesis, learning about creation and the flood, learning about a cubit and measuring how large Noah's ark was, and comparing creation myths from various cultures. This year we are studying the history of the ancient world with a focus on the Israelites and the cultures they interacted with.
