Hey everyone! Easter is in two weeks! I know it’s going to be a very different Easter for a lot of us since we are social distancing and doing school at home and such so I wanted to share a few resources we use for Easter. The first two I’ve used before and the third is a new one my family is trying out for the first time this year. I am not an affiliate for any of these and they are not sponsoring me, I’m just trying to share resources that we have found helpful.

Resurrection Eggs: This is a fun set of eggs, you can make your own or you can buy a set off of Amazon. Basically it’s a dozen eggs and each egg has an object in it that helps tell the story of Easter. The way I’ve used them is each day for 5 days I hide 2 eggs (I have 2 kids, when I only had 1 I hid one egg and it lasted for more days) and the kids have to find them and then I read to them from the Bible the part of the story that their egg alludes to. Both of my kids love this! I’ve also used them in Sabbath school where I hide the whole dozen in the church courtyard and the kids have to find them and then we open them one at a time and the kids tell me what their egg represents and we walk through the Easter story that way.

Sense of the Resurrection is a 12 day program to help make the Easter story real to your kids. Each day has a Bible text, an activity and then a flag to make to add to your banner, you can see our banners from last year above. So the foot washing will have the Bible text on Jesus washing the disciples feet, then you will wash each other feet, and then you will use water colors to paint the feet flag. For Jesus breaking the bread you will read the story, bake some bread, and glue brown paper to the bread flag. It’s all very simple and fun.
The last one we are adding for the first time this year is the Passover in a box kit by Days united. We have received our box and I’ve looked through it. I think it will give us a fun, kid-friendly way to have our own Passover meal. I was disappointed by the typos in the how-to booklet but the materials are high quality and I think it will still be a memorable experience to have our own Seder meal.
Other things we will do, we will likely dye eggs, decorate our windows with window markers, and watch the Easter story section of one of our Jesus videos.
Here are the links for more information on each of those activities. Have a wonderful Easter!
What are you all doing for Easter?
Thank you for the fun ideas and resources!
I ordered the resurrection eggs from amazon. I hadn’t replaced the set I made when S was a toddler yet.
I also found a Paas “tie dye” hard-boiled egg dying kit from Target.com that I’m excited to try out this year.
