Foundation work this week!

More progress this week! Especially considering there’s a concrete shortage. Our footings got poured on schedule. They got it all filled in with sand and rocks and whatever else. The day before the slab was supposed to be filled…the concrete company canceled 😦 But then…the day it was supposed to be filled the concrete company called our contractor and said “Be ready, we’re sending two trucks tomorrow!” Evidently someone reported the concrete company to the news saying they were canceling on the little guys but still pouring for the big guys… so I don’t have pictures of the slab poured but we were there the day before to put in our little symbolic jar. The kids had a great time and our contractor team is fabulous with them.

Daddy reading the memory verses to the kids: Psalm 127:1 Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. And Luke 6:48 like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. Inspired by the second verse, Ari had placed a rock from her collection in the jar…and Cas put in a hot-wheels car.
Play time! The kids played in the gravel and Cas got to turn on the mini-bulldozer (or whatever it is) and raise and lower the big shovel.

So anyway…I’ll try to get pictures of the slab at some point…but then it takes 4 weeks to cure so there won’t be a lot happening until late September. Thank you all for your prayers!
