A short week

Because of the long weekend, this was a short week. I also didn’t get many pictures. We did our regular school and we spent a week observing how the moon changes and reading some books on the moon. We watched a couple videos on Martin Luther King Jr. and we learned a bit about the inauguration and then watched…just the songs and the actual oath of office taking. That’s all my 3 yo could handle. Ari now wants to be at the White House for the next inauguration. We had fun at the park and Ari has been taking her standardized test the iReady. She’s finished the reading portion and is almost done with the math portion so I foresee either frozen yogurt or donuts in our future.

Caleb and I both got our first shot of the Covid vaccine this week as well. I spent a lot of time reading the research, the side effects, the ingredients on the vaccines and I decided I wanted this one. And we were blessed to be in a place where, as teachers, we were able to get the vaccine. For this first dose my only side effect has been a very sore arm on par with when I get the tdap vaccine.

Because I didn’t have a lot to say about school…I’m including the house update here too. One whole upstairs room has all it’s walls! It’s Cas’ room and he is very very excited. He was excited that it has 2 closets and 2 windows and is right above the kitchen 🙂 It had also just rained the day we went up so our contractor had out the floor squeegees and sweepers and the kids wanted to use them. They had a great time getting the water off the downstairs.

That’s it for us. We are very hopeful for more precipitation in the week ahead even if it slows down our building project. We need the rain right now. Hope your weeks are everything you hope they’ll be and more!
