The couple of months after Christmas are both the months we can tend to get the most done in school…and the months that I sometimes feel are the most dull and I start planning the fun ahead to help me get through them. Anyways, I am trying to figure out what we’re doing next year for homeschooling and such…and trying to plan what kind of vacations might work for this spring and summer. Caleb and I got our second doses of the Pfizer vaccine so that’s done. I ended up with low grade fever, sore arm and headache for a day. Caleb had a low fever the night after…and then broke out in hives about 4 days after the shot. The hives are annoying and he still has them 3 days later but otherwise he is fine.
Ari chose a unit on animals and habitats for our next science focus. This unit may take us through the end of the year. We started out with African grasslands and have learned about lions and cheetahs so far. I also got a fun little kit making beeswax candles and both kids had fun doing those. We also got a set of dominoes and beginner pokemon card decks as Ari has gotten very interested in them recently. So we had a couple game nights this week playing dominoes and pokemon.
My parents came down to celebrate my moms birthday and it was fun to see them. Our house continues to make steady progress. They’re putting the sheet rock on now so the house is turning fluorescent green until they put on the stucco…sometime next month I think. The last bit of track that was missing finally arrived so they can put the last couple walls up as well.
