It’s been a busy few weeks. Lots of unpacking and organizing and I substitute taught for a week with 2 of the best teachers aides ever.
We were really excited about living right next to an old overgrown olive orchard. The kids had 2 wonderful weeks of building forts and exploring…and we enjoyed having deer right out our window. And then ferngully happened and now we have stubble out our door. The kids have been pretty heartbroken and we’ll just have to watch the development.
In homeschooling we finished our unit on the United States and have moved on to learning about Mexico. This is going to be a fun year. We grabbed our suitcases and passports and travelers checks and boarded our pretend plane. We watched flight safety videos on youtube and a video about Mexico and then got off our plane and went through customs and exchanged our money and paid tithe on it and bought snacks at the local market. Each day they get to try a different Mexican snack with their pesos. We’re also trying to grow our own saguaro from seed…we’ll see if they sprout. Also, Cas earned his first ribbon at WaterSprites! It’s technically the second ribbon because they said he was too good when he started to get the first ribbon which was very disappointing to him but he made it through and got his orange!
We got rain! And walked in the rain and got soaked and it was wonderful.
And finally, finally, construction has restarted on our house. We have plumbing going in and should be finished next week, fingers crossed of course. Everything is keeping us super busy and God is good and He will see us through.
