This week was nest week, with a broader intro to animal homes but the deep focus was on bird nests and the idea that God takes care of us like a parent bird takes care of its eggs and chicks. We played an animal home matching game where you match the animal to their home in a memory style game. We examined some bird nests that had gotten trapped in our house when the windows were installed, read lots of books, and made birds nest cookies. Our favorite books were: The Best Nest, Are you My Mother?, Mama Built a Little Nest, and the Magic School Bus Flies From the Nest.
We’ve also been practicing our basketball skills when visiting daddy for lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays, learned about viscosity in our volcanoes study (different types of lava have different viscosity), and Ari has been learning about the mission era of California. Mostly with books but also watched some of the old Disney’s Zorro (which is on Disney+ now…yay!), and she did a brief report on Junipero Serra.

Next is t for turtle week. Learning about turtles and…perseverance. Any good books or activities?
Nice pictures! Looks like you had a fun time
