The read Aloud Challenge is a fun challenge I started doing several years ago when Ari had first started reading to make reading in the new year more fun. The kids read aloud to each other for 10 minutes a day. Each day they do that they get to mark off on a chart with 25 marks. Every 5 marks they get to pick a prize. The kids were begging to do it again this year so we got it set up. So far they’ve earned 3 of their prizes. We’ve had some illness that slowed us down. So far they’ve chosen to pick their own dinner (they chose Black Bear Diner), go to a museum (they chose the MOSAC in Sacramento), and sleep in a fort (they chose to set up a tent and camp in the backyard…in January). So they’re getting good bonding read aloud time and it gives us excuses to do some extra fun things in winter.

How was MOSAC? We were thinking of checking it out.
Happy reading!
