We got 3 adorable ducklings the beginning of May. Ducklings are adorable, clumsy, skittish, little messy pigs, and they grow like they’re on steroids. You felt like you could almost see them growing. At 6 weeks they’re essentially full size and fully feathered. The neighbors chicks that they got at about the same time…are still a quarter or half the size of full grown and only half feathered. Ducks are really fun to hand feed because you aren’t afraid to be pecked. I thought they’d be easier to transport outside for outside time when they were young because of their webbed feet but…they have little claws on their toes that can still scratch! That and they’re always wet so you get soaked carrying them. We named our ducks Truffle, Cocoa and Webigail. They are now outside in their own Omlet co-op, on the ground because they don’t roost like chickens. They have a kiddie pool that we change the water in every other day and hope to upgrade to a stock tank pool soon. Next week we’ll try letting them free range the yard and we’ll see how they do with the chickens.

Webbigail ❤️ I love it! 🦆

Aw, they are so adorable! I didn’t realize they had tiny claws. And the names you gave them are cute!

Yes! And we have lots of kids over regularly to enjoy them as well.
