SF day trip

For the kids birthdays, we took them for a day trip to San Francisco. We played at the Exploratorium and then at China beach. It was a great day, the exploratorium just has so much to see and do, I feel like I could spend at least a week there. We definitely didn't see and... Continue Reading →

Cherry Picking

We did our annual cherry picking trip to Stagecoach Lane Ranch. The kids rode the bench seat in the wagon, played corn hole, rode the tiny pedal wagon, picked 10 pounds of cherries, and tried cherry ice cream. We gave 2 pounds of cherries to a neighbor but otherwise we ate the other 8 pounds... Continue Reading →

Goat Grazing Festival

We had a free goat grazing festival first weekend in June. It was a fun place to spend 30-45 minutes. They had baby goats to pet and big goats to feed and you could watch a goat herding dog demonstration. There were also lots of booths with things for sale or information on being wildfire... Silver Dollar Fair

We haven't gone to the Silver Dollar Fair since before Covid so Cas didn't ever remember visiting. We passed the fair being set up on our way to swim lessons and Cas asked about it. We didn't have anything else planned for the weekend, so we took a day and went to the fair. We... Continue Reading →

Three Piggy Opera

This spring, Ari and Cas got to participate in the local Adventist school's musical production: the Three Piggy Opera. Ari tried out and got one of the main parts: the wolf! Cas got to be part of the jury with the other younger kids. My mother-in-law made them each their costumes, we spent weeks singing... Continue Reading →

Ducklings!

We got 3 adorable ducklings the beginning of May. Ducklings are adorable, clumsy, skittish, little messy pigs, and they grow like they're on steroids. You felt like you could almost see them growing. At 6 weeks they're essentially full size and fully feathered. The neighbors chicks that they got at about the same time...are still... Continue Reading →

Tower of London

The last day of our trip we went to the tower of London. We rode the river boat which was included on our Oyster card. That meant that on our trip we had ridden: in a plane, on a double Decker Bus, a regular bus, metro, commuter train, funicular, bullet train, and river boat. Lots... Continue Reading →

London Eye

After Provins, we said goodbye to our lovely little AirBnB and rode the bullet train back to London. We checked into our hotel, walked a ways along the Thames, got food and headed to the London Eye. We got fast passes to avoid any wait. I will say, by this point Cas was worn out.... Continue Reading →

Provins, France

Easter Sunday we headed outside of Paris about 2 hours to Provins. Provins is a UNESCO world heritage site because of its well preserved medieval architecture. They also host an amazing Easter egg treasure hunt that is free and is mostly a thing for the locals but they did have a stack of English treasure... Continue Reading →

Montmartre & Sacre Coeur

We had enjoyed spotting Sacre Coeur from around the city but it hadn't seemed like a visit was going to work out. But spur of the moment, the kids asked to go Sabbath afternoon rather than visit another park. It meant for another rather late night for the kiddos but we got to ride the... Continue Reading →
