Making Progress

After several weeks of nothing happening that we could see on our rebuild project, this week suddenly dumped a lot on us. We got an e-mail from our architect saying that she thought our plans would be ready for printing and submittal on Friday. That meant that we suddenly needed to apply for our fire flow test and backflow device to be installed (in laymens terms, we needed to apply to have water service reinstated at our property), we needed to initiate the 3 step process of having power reinstated at our property, we needed to get our property surveyed, we needed to find a repro, and we needed to start collecting bids for a new septic system.

I got us on the 8 week waiting list for water service. We have an appointment made to meet with the person who will put in our temporary power pole, we need to call back our pg&e representative who will fill us in on their side of process, and we still need to apply for a permit for said power pole. We are planning on applying for the permit at the same time that we submit our plans for a building permit. I also did the research to figure out what kind of survey we need. My wonderful husband got one bid for the septic system and is waiting on a second, selected a repro company, and arranged to have our property surveyed, we should have the official paperwork from that early this week. Aaaand, the plans weren’t ready on Friday, not really a problem since we can’t submit them without the survey paperwork anyway, but they are done now (Sunday) so will be sent to the repro possibly on Monday but more likely on Tuesday.

Things are coming together which is really exciting! Also…the holiday season is upon us so hopefully after we submit our building plans to the building department…we can have another break until after Christmas.
