Merry Christmas!

First week of vacation is over and it’s been a blast so far! Multiple games of Wingspan in the books. My brother was won most of the games but the last game Ari conquered. She was very pleased with herself. We’ve also done multiple hikes and outdoor adventures. Cas’ favorite is the Acid Castles near my parents house. Lots of rocks to clamber around and explore on a steep hillside. It was a favorite place of mine to hike as a kid so I’m not surprised he loves it. We’ve had 3 Christmases so far. One with my siblings, one with my parents, aunt, grandmother and Santa, and one of just our immediate family and we have one Christmas still to go with my in-laws! We’ve also gone climbing…both of my kids are strong and fearless and can climb all the way to the top at the climbing gyms now! Soon we’re going to have to relearn how to belay so we can give them some trickier problems. Ari and I can both make it across the slackline at Rogue Rock gym…with the helping hand rope. We also got to have a white Christmas at my parents place! So we had snowball fights and built a snowman and shoveled snow and overall enjoyed it all! We also played our instruments at my parents church. The kids played their bells, my dad played trumpet, my mom and I played our french horns and my brother played his trombone. We didn’t have room in the car for Caleb’s baritone sax this time so he didn’t join us but he helped the kids with the bells. Lastly…my aunt has a new puppy! So we got lots of fun puppy playtime too.

We have another week of vacation still to go and we are going to enjoy every minute of it! Are you making memories this holiday season? What are you doing?
